I just thought it was comical that they fixed the loop hole which had apparently been running fine for years, without thinking that it would break everything using it.

Maybe there should be a whole section, or at least a dedicated thread, on Lavag for anecdotes like these.

 

You usually get one guru that knows his stuff and is the only person that can make decisions. The rest of the dept are usually just a load of bums on seats armed with a PDF full of excuses which eventually just boil down to the fact that they fart unless the guru says so

You can read the comments there to see why I really appreciate the fact that the online LV communities are populated by adults. At some point in that comment thread I mentioned that I use LV because it's my preference and one of the normal people there appeared genuinely surprised that someone would actually say something like that instead of arguing like children.

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.  But seriously I find it so difficult to hold back emotions, when topics that I feel I am an expert on, are so misunderstood.  And LabVIEW is often times misunderstood.

Hmm, must have missed that one.

Or ignored it because to the non-LabVIEW user it just doesn't mean anything except "I loooooove those colours. They're awesome!" - and to the LabVIEW user it just means "lucky I'm not maintaining that".

It's a little bit like posting a weirdly convoluted 1 page snippet of text-based programming language - nobody's going to read it or find it funny.

I prefer the small ones I can look at for a few seconds and actually understand what's going on without having to read the paragraph of explanations. But I guess the world of programming languages has long ago exhausted the pool of simple and original WTFs.

They're not intended to be funny, but to be fair, most of the TDWTF's snippets aren't funny either, and the articles often tend to have a lot of hot air blown into them to make full article out of a situation which could be described in four sentences, so you're not any worse off.
